Jasmine Pearls (Current)

blended | green tea

flavor profile: jasmine, water chestnuts, citrus

Jasmine pearls are green tea leaves scented with fresh jasmine blossoms. The jasmine plant is believed to have been introduced into China from Persia via India during the Han Dynasty (206 BC to 220 AD). Jasmine tea became widespread during the Qing Dynasty when tea was exported in large quantities to the West. The jasmine plant is grown at high elevations in the mountains. To make jasmine pearls, green tea and jasmine flowers are placed in alternating layers, and tea leaves are hand-rolled into pearls that slowly unfold with rich and floral aroma as the tea's being steeped.
